"Very busy staff with the patience of saints."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I was sent to Gate 11 Ambulatory care as my doctor feared I'd had a stroke. The receptionist greeted and dealt with everyone in the same pleasant manner. The receptionist was very efficient. Everything was explained clearly to me by all the staff who were pleasant and thorough.

The majority of people visiting this Department seemed to think the hospital was there solely to treat them and that any delays were due to the staff not being efficient which was certainly not the case. They were all hardworking. The visitors did not seem to understand that the hospital was busy before they turned up needing attention and that they were prioritised by need and slotted in where they could be.

Very ungrateful and ignorant people and I was ashamed listening to them moan. The NHS does a fantastic job under very difficult circumstances and this was the case in Ambulatory Care.

My only concern would be that the toilet on Gate 11 was quite grubby but I don't place responsibility for that upon the staff working at Gate 11.
