"Cardiology outpatients"

About: Kingston Hospital / Cardiology

I attended the outpatients yesterday for an echocardiogram and for the fitting of an event recorder subsequently.

I found the department easily, the staff were very polite on reception. The physiologist who did my echo was very personable and chatty.

I was seen on time! I didn't expect that at all..

I was quickly seen subsequently for the fitting of the electrodes and how to use the appliance before leaving promptly.

The staff who work in this department were delightful and very kind and nice to all the patients I saw come through while I waited.

It's a pleasant change from all the awful stories about A&E and inpatients.

My one issue is that you seem to be unable to get appliances back when patients don't cooperate and the technician told me that 5 haven't been returned lately at a cost of £2000 each! This is our money and surely there must be a way to get these back - a hire shop wouldn't permit such a loss of equipment. I'm happy to pay a returnable deposit and wish you would do this so you don't lose money so unnecessarily.

Thank you for your feedback, that's really good to hear. I have passed your comments onto the Cardiology team.
