"Miscarriage"

About: Basildon University Hospital / Gynaecology

After a scan confirming our baby had died we were sent to the gynecology ward. We opted for the surgery option to deal with our second miscarriages but was talked into medication by the doctor and was given an appointment for 4 days later to receive the medication. After 72 hours this had not worked so returned to the hospital. After a 6 hour wait to see a doctor and refusing the medication option, this time we were given an appointment for surgery, 5 days later. The staff refused to listen to our concerns about it happening naturally as last time my wife lost so much blood they were ready to do a transfusion. The staff were also adamant that the procedure could not be carried out sooner. We feel let down and frustrated by the hospital lack of consideration. Although fantastic in an emergency, the staff seem reluctant to do anything until it is an emergency, where as we would like to prevent the emergency rather than curing a critical situation
