I attended the Surgical Unit at Stracathro Hospital in Angus for a hernia repair. I am rarely in a hospital and I have never had an operation so I was a little nervous before going in. I am glad to say that my care was excellent. In particular I would like to thank my surgeon, Mr Hamza, whom in my preoperative consultation clearly described the procedure and also the various possible post-operative results. In the event, the surgical cut is shorter than I expected and the stitches are invisible. It's beautiful work. During my admission my anaesthetist, whom I think is called Dr Weir, was incredibly confident and put me at immediate ease, which was very much appreciated because I was very agitated.
The whole sequence of activities and procedures by the various staff members seemed like a neatly choreographed play. Thanks to all.
