I was admitted to ward 21 for an operation on my shoulder. The nurses and porters were absolutely fantastic. They never stop, constantly on the go but still manage to stay attentive to all patients needs with a pleasant manner. I hadnt met my surgeon yet and was particularly apprehensive when I was admitted to hospital, but the nurses were able to reassure me my surgeon would be in to talk with me. Dr Shanker came to the ward and introduced himself. He was amazing, honest, understanding and had a great bedside manner. He put my mind at ease instantly and also approached me again pre-theatre to have a quick chat with me. All the staff in Theatre 5 were friendly, professional and totally committed to their field of work (wonderful). After my operation once back in the ward Dr Shanker visited me again (3 times in 1 day) to make sure I was ok and free to go home - great patient service. I have no idea how sucessful my operation is as I am still recupperating, but I can say that, I have every faith in all the staff and surgeon who all played an amazing part of my journey that I was given top class care and for that I am eternally grateful.
