I had cataract surgery carried out in 2016 but am not one bit happy with the outcome or the lack of response I have received from the consultant since.
I have been left with a permanent glare and my eyesight in the eye is uneven I. e. when I try to read all the lettering is staggered vertically and not a straight line like it should be.
I attended an appointment with the consultant 2 weeks after surgery and he told me all went well & that I could go to opticians immediately to get fitted for new glasses.
This was somewhat surprising as I had been told that it should take 5 or 6 weeks for eyesight to stabilise.
Furthermore, I told the consultant about the glare and unevenness of my site but I felt that they just fobbed me off & basically pushed me out of the door after about 2 minutes.
I have tried to get in contact with the clinic and also wrote a letter to them expressing my concerns but I have yet to receive any kind of response from them and it feels like they are treating me with contempt. I think the consultant knows that it was a botched operation and will not acknowledge any correspondence from me.
Also, I was meant to get both eyes done but when I checked with them I found out I wasn't even on the waiting list for the second operation! !
