It was dusk in my garden and I noticed that my Dog Vinny was behaving strangely, he had something in his mouth and when I went to investigate I received a sharp bite and realised that he had a caught a rat and that it had bitten me. Vinny disposed of the rat and we popped him in the dustbin for collection the next day.
I telephoned my daughter and told her the story and she insisted that I ring NHS 111 for advice. I said "oh I will be ok" but she again insisted so I rang 111.
The member of staff I spoke to was really nice and helpful and recommended that I attend the walk in center at St George's it was almost 10pm but St George's is open until 11pm every day.
I must say that I was embarrassed to trouble the NHS with such a trivial matter however the staff were really welcoming and after a short wait the nurse practitioner offered me advice and a course of treatment.
The service I received was truly fantastic and I thank all the staff at NHS 111 and at St Georges for their assistance.
You did a great job!
