"Ovarian cyst to unexpected cancer"

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital / Gynaecology

I became ill a year ago with sudden onset of pain and vomiting, after some tests later i was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst (large) that had torted. I underwent a bilateral salipngooopherectony on feb 9th and also had an examination of my uterus. Having been discharged with no planned follow up, i was called back to see the consultant, who informed me that the biopsies thaey had sent for analysis turned out to be a grade 1 endometrial cancer. After i got over the shock i was referred for an mri scan and advised to have a hystetectomy.i underwent a hysterectomy via laproscopy on april 11th. The treatment, care and attention i have recieved have been excellent from the consultants, anaethetists and nursing staff, the ward was clean, friendly and comfortable, food good and i was involved every step. Many thanks to ATL and the department of gynaecology. Hoping to have many more years.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding our gynaecology services. I am delighted to read that the care and treatment you have received during your visits, is of the high quality we aim to provide. I have shared your kind comments with the ATL team, who I am sure, will be very pleased.
