"An emergency operation for a small intestine..."

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Accident and emergency

On February 4th I was admitted to A&E with severe abdominal pain.

After a scan I was immediately prepared for an emergency operation to remove part of my small intestine which had ruptured. The nurses and doctors were very professional and kind. I realized I was in a life threatening situation but was reassured by the consultant surgeon who spoke to myself and my husband beforehand,

The surgeon telephoned my husband as soon as the operation was over to let him know all was well.

I felt I was looked after well and brought back to health by caring staff.

I am extremely grateful to the consultant, they visited me on the ward every day to check my progress and give me confidence. I felt my life was saved by the consultant and their team

Thank you Princess Alexander Hospital.
