"A&E and AMU staff"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Accident and emergency

Rude, uncaring staff. Elderly being left asking for assistance, nurses just ignore them like they don't exist, it's so awful and you feel so much guilt that when you are a visitor you find yourself caring for patients!!!! Mental health problems? don't even consider this hospital, they clearly can't even deal with physical complaints. I am in shock at how uncaring some nurses/HCAs/Doctors are and hurtful comments they make, disgusting treatment for mental health problems! Discharge those clearly still very unwell far too early but according to staff they are completely fit?? I can see they are not and i'm not medically trained, I've seen patients literally have to argue that they are not well, the vulnerable obviously can't speak up so do as they are told. The staff here do not care about their patients and just want to get rid of them as soon as possible, particularly those with mental health problems. Something needs to be done as they are awful to the elderly and those with mental health issues (through no fault of their own) who are the vulnerable. Its disgusting. The hospital just covers up it's issues rather than addressing anything. The hospital staff need some drastic training in compassion! I would not use this hospital as i have seen what it's like just as a visitor! Obviously I acknowledge that not all staff are the same, a minority are extremely caring but this is rare.

I was very concerned to hear about your experience of the Trust following your recent attendance as a visitor. I would like to reassure you that we take all feedback very seriously to ensure where any areas of improvement can be identified and make the experience a positive one for patients and family/carers alike.
