"uti infection"

Last week i was admitted to darlington memorial hospital with a suspected uti and put in ward 34. the next day i was put in a private room on ward 34 close to the administration desk but was not given the alarm cord which was left hanging up in the air, out of my reach. soon after i needed to pass water , could not raise the alarm , got out of bed , tried to use a paper pot which overflowed over the floor, i opened the door to my room to attract attention but was ordered back in . i sat on the bed and cried my eyes out until a nurse arrived who cleaned me, and changed the bed linen.

Last year i was in the memorial hospital and my ex husband was in the next ward . on the night of his death a nurse called my eldest son to say he had died but the telephone conversation was disjointed and fragmented as the nurse did not have a very good command of the english language. the next day my son went into the hospital to visit me and the nurse asked my son if i would like to visit my husband. beleiving he was still alive, my son just said "my dad is dead , you can press the delete button". the nurse was sat in front of her computer.

In the previous year my son had a cataract operation at the memorial hospital. he was sent to the wrong waiting room by a nurse and was there for two and a half hours before a different nurse arrived and asked what he was doing there, he had missed his appointed time and would have to wait until the afternoon. when he had the operation it was carried out by a trainee while the consultant spent most of the time discussing some political issue he had with memorial hospital management. with a different nurse. after the operation my son was in a lot of pain and returned to the memorial hospital to have his eye checked but the nurse tested the wrong eye . the tests had to be done again by a staff nurse.

It is not my intention to cause offence, but i am expecting this review to be rejected as it is not what you want to read, however i have a granddaughter and her husband who work at the memorial hospital in theatres and they say i am right to send it.
