I had arrived for my 11am appointment very early at 8,45 am but I checked in anyway I had to change my address and GP info .and found the receptionist a little curt and condescending . My number came up on the screen so I went where told to the ENT clinic . I was immediately greeted by a member of staff of whom came out from a room who then said very politely would I take a seat and they hoped I would be seen asap , by the time I had finished with reception it was 9.30 am so I was very surprised to be called into the clinic area by 9.45 and consequently called in to the consultant surgeon at 10am . the whole unit had a nice relaxed atmosphere and all the staff had smiles even though for the whole time I was there never wavered I was treated as an individual and given respect at all times , I was surprised when the actual surgeon syringed my ears out and then very gently put a camera up my nose and explained everything that was going to happen and their assistant said they had it done and knew what it felt like . The surgeon then explained what they knew was wrong and reassured me that nothing more sinister was there . They then sent me for a hearing test (same place ) which I had a bit of a wait for but Al the time I was noticing how busy the staff were and still smiling ,I did ask the first member of staff how much more of a wait I had not complaining just asking they immediately gave me a lovely smile and assured me I was not a nuisance and I was entitled to ask if I wanted to . it was so good that all the tests I needed were done there and then and I was not expected to go back and forth to the hospital for different tests , I left the unit at 12.30pm feeling good and very happy with my treatment in all areas and told them so before I left. it is a very good and extremely efficient unit and they worked extremely well as a team . I felt they not only respected their patients but they respected each other too and appreciated that they all knew their roles and were all as important as each other . I feel this had an affect on the efficiency of the staff which lead to a feeling of well being in their patients . I would very much like all the staff to know how I feel . I cannot thank them or praise them enough . ( on the next question I have ticked 'don't know as ENT appears not to be on the list !!!!
