"ophthalmology appointment"

About: Kettering General Hospital / Ophthalmology

Having had a fall during a seizure my daughter has double vision. Her optician sent her to her doctor, she then visited woodlands and was passed to kettering for an appointment. We arrived early for her 9:30am apt' on april 20th, waited over an hour to see the doctor, who asked her to follow their finger, looked in each eye then stated she needed to see someone else. They told us to sit and wait while they got someone to take us over. She had already had an indepth exam at woodlands! After fifteen minutes a nurse came to us and told us that the other doctor was fully booked and we would have to wait for another appointment in a months time. At no stage was there an apology for the hours wait or the inability to see my daughter. She has a lot of medical problems and sees doctors in maxilo facial, haemostasis, breast unit and neurology. Never has she been treated so offhandedly. She has always been treated with respect and care and has the complete trust in those concerned with her treatment in those other departments. She and I were sad to see this department apparently so oblivious to patient needs.
