"Shepherdlea Ward Manager"

In the 4 weeks I spent visiting the ward as a patient family member, it was clear from the first day who the Ward Manager was.

I would like to recognize and nominate Shepherdlea Ward Manager for employee of the month based on the following experience.

This manager is a 'silent' leader and earns the respect of the team.

This is a hard worker, diligent and hands on, went on walks with patients.

They took ownership and managed expectations being cognizant of the emotions family are dealing with.

The manager led by example and worked Good Friday when many managers would be quick to take advantage of the long weekend off to spend with family.

The manager was approachable, reliable and showed empathy beyond what their duty called for.

They were professional and earned respect from the staff.

Their integrity was apparent and the NHS and Ward should be ever so grateful to have an employee like this being the door keeper of NHS.

I am convinced the care at the ward has been unwavering at all times due mainly to the great leadership and team work present.

Based on my experience I will actively promote legacy to Oxleas House and support any activities online in fund raising as I live overseas.
