"Liver transplant 2015"

About: St James's University Hospital

I had my transplant in October 2015. I have had numerous follow up clinic appointments. I will for the rest of my life. The staff at Leeds St James transplant unit is unbelievable. I was on Becket Wing.

The Surgeons, Doctors, nurses and auxiliaries and student nurses, radiology staff, porters, cleaners, catering staff and clinic staff were and continue to be superb.

I was very ill and in desperate need of my transplant and when I was sent for I was treated like royalty.

No question or concern I or my partner raised was ignored, or brushed away. The care I recieved was fabulous. In spite of the dreadful state I was in when I arrived I was out within 3 weeks. And my recovery has been great since.

How do thank these people for doing what they do?

Thank you does not cover it, yet when I say that to the team they say... "Its ok. Its our job."

Great work. Thank you.

Dear Andy

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us.

Your post is wonderful to read and I am extremely pleased that you had such a positive experience whilst in our care.

I have passed your kind words on to the manager of the Transplant Team. I am sure that all the staff members involved in your care will be delighted to hear such wonderful feedback.
