"Minor injury unit"

About: Vale Community Hospital

I took my daughter to the unit on advise from our Dr's.

On arriving the receptionist was pleasant, we were seen very promptly by a lovely triage nurse who said there were 2 people in front of us so the wait shouldn't be too long. 3 and a half hrs later and several conversations with the receptionists, we were finally seen. The nurse was visibly tired and very overworked, no lunch hr , no breaks and on a 12 hr shift!. The nurse was very polite and helpful though and put the wheels in motion professionally.

Please get more staff to cover breaks and volume of patients!

The receptionist and triage nurse need to make patients aware of any delays or indeed the amount of time you may have to wait.

I won't be visiting the Vale again as communication was just awful which is a shame as it is the cleanest hospital around but with staff that are not good at communicating.
