Went to day surgery for injection into knee yesterday waiting room full by 12 .30 as we had all had same appointment time, however never saw any nursing staff or doctor till 1.30 in the mean time I had to push an elderly lady in a wheelchair to the toilet as she was on her own had been just left there by porter .
When the staff did turn up it was chaotic doctor calling people in for assesement then nurses calling in for tagging and allergy checks then all systems go the lovely Doctor then dissapeared and we were quite quickley taken down to theatre the doctor who had been assessing us was doing the procedure
I finally left the unit at 4pm .
Must take my hat off to all the staff, there was at least 20 patients to get through and were pleasant and caring.
