"Would not wish this environment join anyone"

About: Priory Hospital Marchwood

I was at this hospital for 4 months after having been inpatient twice before in different hospitals, and can say without hesitation that this was the worst by far.

While some staff were lovely and helpful, most were rude and treated me with zero respect or dignity. They made me feel fat worse than I had originally felt, and I spent many days in this hospital shut in my room, not coming out to eat or socialise, but was rarely checked on by staff during these days or encouraged to leave my room.

They made me hate myself and feel unwanted, uncared for and overly difficult. My primary nurse handed my care over to another nurse as they "couldn't handle me anymore". Staff had very little control over violent patients, and one night it took staff around 3 hours and a visit from the police to deesaclate a girl who was threatening other patients with a knife, meanwhile we were all barricaded into the lounge and not allowed out.

There were no measures in place to ensure I was taking my medication unlike at other hospitals I've been to, and so I ended up saying up a few weeks' worth with the intention of ODing.

I was also told that I must have been abused in my childhood to be feeling the way I was, as nothing else could explain my state of mind or behaviour.

Do not go here, it will ruin you.
