About: Russells Hall Hospital / Ophthalmology

I have to write to compliment the Ophthalmology department after visiting today with my mother, as it was an emergency I was dealt with extremely well by a member of staff who managed to get us in at short notice.

When we got there we were seen promptly by the emergency doctor who diagnosed the problem efficiently and then a nurse who my mother sees regularly rectified the problem.

All in all as pleasurable an experience as it could be.

If only the A&E department weren't the same as on Saturday the doctor on duty could not help her and seemed to want to send her away to another hospital.

Well done Ophthalmology!!!!!

To ensure that patients get the specialist care they need, at weekends we refer them to the Birmingham Midland Eye Centre (BMEC).
