"I was in post op care in ward ..."

About: Good Hope Hospital

What I liked

I was in post op care in ward 2 and some of the nurses and auxillaries were good some but not all. They cariied out their set duties but not much else.

What could be improved

The night nurses in particular were rude unfriendly and quite scary. They did the observations and gave out the medications but that is all. The was no real caring and an elderly patient in my room was given her meals but no-one checked whether she was eating them, which she wasn't because she kept be sick. I had some of my own medications which I was to told to take my self but I got quite sick and couldn't take them no-one arranged for these to be administered so I got even sicker Luckily I improved soon and began my meds again without any major problem.

Anything else?

There were too many different nursesand diffrerent doctors caring for the patients and none of them seemed to know the history and asked the same questions over and over. Nobody checks to see if you are eating properly.
