What I liked
I had a hysteroscopy here on Monday of this week. After having a similar procedure done at another hospital a few years ago i was quite apprehensive about this one as my previous experience was not very nice but i must say i was presently surprised about the difference in the two!!!
I arrived for my 1pm appointment and the first thing i noticed was how nice and friendly the ladies on the reception desk were. I was asked to take a seat and wait for a nurse to take me through to the ward. I waited for about six minutes and when the nurse came for me she apologised for my wait!!! - (At my previous treatment elsewhere i was left sat outside a ward on a corridor for an hour and 15 minutes with no explanation given!).
On entering the ward i was seem immediately and shown to my bed by a lovely nurse who chatted to me and instantly put me at ease. All the nurses were extremely nice, and the one thing i noticed was that they never sat down, they were constantly on the go - and what pleasant, helpful girls they all were!
I was told that i was third on the list and would probably go to theatre about 2.30 - and it wasn't much after that when i went. When i came round from the anaesthetic i was given not one but three cups of coffee! and some toast.
I remember when i had my last procedure done elsewhere that i had been out of theatre about an hour and i had to ask for a drink because i was parched!
I was very pleased with the anaethetist - i did tell him that i was a little worried about going under but he reassured me. He even came to see me afterwards to make sure i was ok!!!
When my daughter came to collect me she said i looked as though i had been to one of those pampering spa's for the day (when i was picked up from my previous op i was in tears and just wanted to go home!)
I may have to have another procedure shortly depending on the results of this one - and I know i will not have a sleepless night before this time!!! Thankyou!
What could be improved
Absolutely nothing!
Anything else?
Yes - More of these centres please!
