As a practising nurse and former midwife of nearly 44 years , I have found myself on the receiving end of patient care today . I was booked for a colonoscopy prior to later tx for pelvic floor problems . As I have diabetes I had an early appointment and Arrived promptly and was greeted by a friendly receptionist . I was apprehensive about the procedure (personal reasons ) . I was treated with great care and kindness ,from the minuteI was taken into the interview room , every member of staff encountered waspleasant ,friendly and relaxed which inturn had a positive effect on me
I opted to have sedation which was a good decision as parts of the procedure were quite painful ,although carried out with great care .
The Nurse endoscopist and their team were brilliant as were the HCA 's in recovery area. This is a very well run department It was also good to hear and witness comeraderie between staff members , great evidence of team work and I cannot praise everyone too highly
Thankyou
"Impressive care from Endoscopy department"
