I had a cataract removed at the Opthalmology department, B6 at the Rotherham District Hospital. This was a well run clinic with effective use of all grades of staff. Choices were offered in all of the essentials and the patient and the choice was respected.
The thing that could of been better was the usual things, furnishings, the environment and a little more information directly relating to my personal care, e.g. density of cataract, the need to have the head level, etc.
As a former trained nurse it was nice to see, as in G.P. surgeries, the effective use of specialist trained nurses. This allowed appointment times to be adhered to, and thus public and N.H.S. resources were not wasted.
I would like to thank all staff, but mostly the nursing staff as they provide most of the input in both clinic and pre-operative care.
"Very efficient clinic at Rotherham for cataract removal"
