After two traumatic experiences of this department in one week, and discussions with friends of mine who have been to it in the past, I get a very strong impression that standards have dropped in the past year or so due to very pleasant and kind doctors and nurses being overwhelmed with too much work and too many patients. I wouldn't say the same for receptionists, who with 1 or 2 honourable exceptions seemed they just did not want to know!
Still concerned re possible retinal detachment so will be going to optician tomorrow.
