I've been under FPH for around two years, resulting in 5 separate operations on my eyes over that time, and countless appointments.
Sight saving operations too! Not a day goes by when I don't recognise how lucky I am that I was assessed and treated quickly, and my sight is not only saved, but improved. Added to this, the staff are incredible; patient, kind, confident and quite brilliant. I've lost count of the many dozens of appointment I've had, but each time I have left feeling secure and cared for. The highest praise for this department and this hospital. Given they have to deal with such incredible negativity from certain quarters, their pastoral care and technical brilliance is unswerving in this eye department. I'm a massive fan. I hear bad attitude from some impatient folk in the waiting areas.... they should know how lucky they are to be there.
Honestly, I've had first rate care and attention from the initial assessments, each time, right through to the doctor or consultant.
I understand that sometimes the wait times can be lengthy, however I get very cross when I hear poor attitude and language from folk waiting. You have to realise that these wait times are because once in the individual rooms, each outpatient has as much time as necessary to sort the problem to everybody's satisfaction. There is no rush when these amazing people are carrying out only a totally thorough check.
FPH, I'm sorry you have to deal with such nastiness on occasion.
However, I think you're brilliant.
"Lucky me!!"
