My mother was an in-patient for 4 weeks in Ward 5c, and was very unwell, she had came into hospital as an emergency (blue light ambulance) and taken to Resus then spent 2 nights in Receiving before being transferred to Ward 5c. Right from admission to the ward on day 1 we noticed how efficient and professional every member of staff behaved in treating my mother. From the domestics, auxilliary nurses, student nurses, staff nurses, charge nurse Liz, junior doctors, registrars and consultants Dr Yates and Dr White they were all amazing in helping my mum get well enough for discharge to go home where she is continuing to do well and benefiting from the care package in place which includes Physio/OT, Cordia carers 4 times daily and district nurses.
I remember some names on the ward in particular who stood out and please forgive me if I've missed certain names off list as they were all brilliant but Jamie, Gordie, David, Jade, student nurse Lauren, there was also another Lauren who was great - a small blonde nurse, as I say these are only the names I can remember but ALL staff included in the categories above were just outstanding and certainly helped make my mum and all her family happy and safe in the knowledge she was receiving the best of care. It's nothing short of a miracle that my mum fought her way back from the brink and its testimony to the care she received on Ward 5c, you are all in the right job and should be so proud of yourselves. THANK YOU x
