"During my treatment at Newquay ..."

About: Newquay Hospital

What could be improved

During my treatment at Newquay hospital I felt like I had my dignity taken away and couldn't complain to the nurses as when I did they laughed and treated me worse. When I cried they made me feel worse (not all but many) and as an 83 yr old I felt like I was back at school being bullied to be honest.

Anything else?

This is from my grandmother who is at the hospital. I am trying to contact hospital administrators now to get things rectified if possible. This is a terrible state of affairs for someone who has paid their Nat Ins all their working life to be treated this way!

The staff at Newquay Hospital have made contact with the patient concerned

and her family, and have investigated the issues raised. Claims made

regarding staff behaviour were unfounded, however, it was concluded that

communication with the family could be improved to help them better

understand Mrs X’s ongoing care and treatment. The family are happy with

the outcome of the investigation and the work undertaken by staff at

Newquay Hospital to rectify the situation. The case has been closed.
