"Still having problems with referrals at Nottingham QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

The last time I visited QMC Notts, the consultant told me he couldn’t do what needed to be done and that I would be referred as an urgent case to the John Radcliffe at Oxford. Some three weeks later Oxford hadn’t heard from Notts so I phoned the consultant’s secretary to ask why, if I was being referred, I had been sent another outpatient app. Her reply was something like, “oh just ignore the letter, I’ve been compiling your test results and the referral letter is awaiting a signature”. Bare in mind I had only visited there twice since April and had only one myleogram, so just where all these test results have come from is beyond me, as I had more deferred appointments than actual appointments. I contacted my GP to see if they could chase my supposedly urgent referral up, to be told today that apparently QMC are not doing the referral because it costs and that my GP has to do it. But they cannot do it until they receive the discharge letter from QMC. I’m housebound now and firmly believe I will be treated as a new case whenever I get to Oxford my waiting since April obviously won’t count.
