"Some very helpful staff."

What I liked

Some very helpful staff.

What could be improved

Areas such as the outpatients/labs etc are in need of redecoration and must be hard to clean properly with so many posters and other notices stuck all over the place.

The two zebra crossings on site have raised kerbs at one end (oddly these are the newly built sections of path), this has been the case for over a year and has been reported previously elsewhere.

The conversations between the path lab staff and patients can be heard in the waiting room, as the doors are habitually left open.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our services and it is good to hear our staff were helpful.

We will shortly be appointing a new provider of cleaning services who will commence provision in March 2010. The contract we have negotiated incorporates higher standards for cleanliness than that in place previously, together with a range of performance targets which will be monitored on a regular basis. At the same time, we’ll undertake an audit of all posters and notice boards and any which are no longer in pristine condition will be removed. This activity will become part of the routine cleaning rostas for outpatient areas. Hopefully you’ll soon see an improvement – let us know!

It is disappointing to hear that confidential discussions have been overheard in the pathology lab. With immediate effect, we have asked staff to ensure that doors are kept closed at all times between the waiting room and treatment area. However several patients are treated at the same time in the treatment area and because of this it will remain possible for those patients to hear the conversations within the room. We’ll review this situation as part of our business planning process which takes place annually to identify any potential for improving privacy in this area.

We have forwarded your comments on the raised kerbs on site to NHS Cambridgeshire which is the landlord for the site and responsible for external pathways.

Once again, many thanks for taking the time to let us know your views.
