I was made and emergency appointment by my consultant in Manhcester for August 6th 2009. My appoint ment was at 11.45am. I got there and handed my notes over to the receptionist. About 5 minutes later she came back to us asking for my doctors details. I gave them to her and was told he was not on the database and she would have to put a doctor down that was not mine but worked out of the same surgery!!!! I stated that i would prefer it if she did not do this as i have never seen this doctor before. I was then asked to call my own doctor and get his details. I gave them to the receptionist who told me she still could ot put him down and what did i wnt her to do!!!! I dont know whether this situation was resolved as i was told to take a seat and she would sort it out!!! I then waited till 2pm to get seen by a sonographer! I then was tols the doctor will be 20 minutes so we went down stirs to get a sandwich and came straight back up. We were left there waiting with no info till 4.30pm. I only got to speak to a consultant as i started to cry and get very upset at the lack of compassion shown by the hospital. I was then taken into a room to be scanned again by the doctor who was awful. I knew i was there to terminate one of my twins but he was horrible very blunt as if it was my fault i was there. Evry negative thing he could have told me about the rest of my pregnancy he did. I was AWFUL. I was very scared for my so called 'healthy' baby and evry doubt that could have been put in my head was. I had the termination carried out with 6 people in the room (was not told this). I was then told i have to have a few little things done, once these were carried out the doctor came in the room said good night and left...it was 6.40pm! We were not asked how we were getting ome to manchester or anything or whether we needed a hand getting to the station just waved off. I have been left emotionally scard by this hospital. Please avoid it if you can!!!
