What I liked

Being a total coward when it comes to hospital treatment I researched the options open to me and chose the Peninsula NHS treatment centre based on other past patients comments.

I am also a diabetic and not the smallest guy in the world so my worries wher even greater.

From the moment I was first contacted by the hospital administration staff I was immediately put at ease.

My first visit was a really pleasant experience with everyone I came into contact with benig sympathetic to my obvious nervousness without being condesending.

The whole system was so efficient and comforting that I was actually beginning nto mlook forward to the procedure being performed

I was lucky to get a cencellation so the wait was short and I went in for the op with great confidence. This confidence was boyed by the efficient and caring approach of everyone I met.

All the medical staff were kind and pleasant and actually had time for me, not the ususl NHS approach. This was especially prevalent from the senior staff actually doing the job on me.

The op went remarkably well and the after care could not be better with everyone I came into contact with being more than attentive, considerate and ready and able to help with whatever concern I had.

The Physio team were really practical and helpful to the point that I felt great when I was discharged only 4 days after the operation.

My progress has continued at a remarkable pace so much so that I am much more mobile 4 weeks on than I could have ever hoped.

I must really thank and congratulate the whole team and in particular those who actually run and manage this fabulous unit. If only the rest of the NHS was like this.

My other knee will need doing soon and I now actuall look forward to the experience as I am so confident that the pain I have suffered for so many years can so easily be overcome.

What could be improved

Introduce Internet WiFi if possible.
