"Long waits and lack of treatment have left me in pain for Xmas"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I visited my GP in April 2007 with a mobility problem, it took 6 weeks to get a Dopler scan, no examinations took place, then a further two different GP visits, one even told me to make an appointment with a hospital in another area, and then naturally they refused to see me without a referral. As I felt nothing constructive had been done and I was getting worse I demanded to see practice manager, he did examine me realised it was bad but told me to see an orthopaedic consultant for my neurological condition. 3 months later I get this supposedly 3 choice app option, only to be told the first choice had nothing and the other two was with the same chap at different hospitals so I was referred as an urgent case huh! Some 3 months down the line, I’m getting worse, finally see this ortho consultant, after another physical was told “if I can do something I will, if I cant I won’t”. 11 and a half months down the line I am house bound and he’s referring me to the Jr at Oxford, yes you’ve guessed it as an urgent case! That was over two weeks ago, Oxford haven’t heard a thing and no one can tell me if I have to go through the start of the 18 weeks referral to treatment again, even though I haven’t yet received any or does it still count from when I was first referred early 2007 to the original hospital? I am suffering because of long waiting times, which I think, in turn have caused my condition to worsen due to lack of treatment.
