"Unprofessional"

I attended this surgery three times with my newborn baby and asked them if I can breastfeed, only to be turned away. The surgery have a sign stating they will accommodate parents who wish to breastfeed, yet this is not implemented. All three times there were empty rooms available but it was not offered. I had no choice but to come home all the way back with a crying, hungry newborn baby. It is absolutely disgraceful that a GP surgery is not breastfeeding friendly!

Hi, thanks for sharing your comments and we are sorry to hear that you were turned away in this manner. The Croft Shifa Health Centre NHS Choices page is monitored by Pennine Care, but other organisations do also have services in the building - such as the GP surgery. Therefore, we would advise contacting the GP surgery directly to pass on your feedback around this issue, so they can look at rectifying it in future.
