I was admitted yesterday for an ERPC after we found out at our 12 week scan the baby had died a few days earlier. I am not normally one to go out of my way to write a review, particularly after some average care recieved by my mum only a few weeks prior, but the level of care i was shown was outstanding.
From the second I entered the Day Care Unit i was treated with dignity and respect. The nurse made sure i had everything I needed. The only disappointing thing here is when i was gowned up my partner couldnt wait with me as i was in a female only section.
I was accompanied up to anaesthetic by a member of staff who was lovely kind and polite and helped me take my mind off the procedure. I lost quite a lot of blood and had to be in recovery for much longer than expected but again the care was faultless. They looked after me and kept me fed with cups of tea and biscuits. Again my only disappointment was that i couldnt get in touch with my partner who was frantically pacing downstairs because a procedure that shouldve taken 2 hours took 5.
When a bed eventually became free again in day care i was wheeled back down and looked after exceptionally well. The personal touch and hug when leaving really made a horrific day so much more bearable. I wouldnt wish that procedure on anyone but QEH went out of their way to make the day as easy as possible. Thank you so much.
"Absolutely wonderful care"
