You have to ring at 8.30am to get an emergency appointment on the same day at this surgery, which I did. I finally got through at 8.47 to a very unhelpful and condescending receptionist who informed me that all appointments were now taken for that day and I'd have to phone again tomorrow. Frustrated, I phoned again the next day and was again unable to get a same day appointment so asked for one the next day which the receptionist was unable to provide as all the 48h appointments were taken too. I was again just told to phone back the next day by which time my throat would probably have closed up due to the severe tonsillitis. Instead I went to another surgery by my partners house as an "emergency holiday patient" where I was seen the same morning I phoned.
"fine surgery if you never have an emergency"
