Assessment was carried out by a doctor from from the Adult Mental Health Team from the Neill Unit, Warneford Hospital in Oxford at the Julier Centre in Bicester.
The doctor assessed my Son but given his anxiety and inability to open up to strangers, I assumed that the Doctor would talk to me as My Sons parent and carer for more information - they didn't,
We have now received the report which in my opinion is unbelievable! They contradict themselves, saying that my son has not been depressed and has never been on anti-depressants. My Sons notes clearly state that he has been on anti-depressants for over a year and has been diagnosed with depression by his GP. They also said that no further intervention was needed and suggested changing his anti-depressant when they previously stated he was on no medication in the report!
We feel completely let down and I feel that we have received a second rate service from in my view, a Doctor who cannot be bothered to speak to his patients carers or read the forms we completed or familiarise himself with my Sons medical history
We will be requesting another assessment from a differnt Psychiatrist.
