I was in a hurry for my appointment, it was raining, there was a queue of people behind me and I was in my wife's car that day ('cos she's got SatNav! ). In my rush to pay for parking, I entered half my wife's registration and half of my own. She then received a £60 fine because the regsitration phtographed entering and leaving the car park did not match any on their system - fair enough, they wouldn't match BUT when I appealed, explaining the situation - giving them the incorrect registration I had entered but proving that I HAD paid for parking - I was told that I had not complied with their regulations (which are on display - but which I doubt anybody has read) and the £60 fine would go up to £100 if I didn't pay within a few days.
I sent them a cheque with a very strongly worded letter - copied to the head of Mental Health and head fo Facilities at ACFH - suggesting they do the right thing - cancel the fine and tear up the cheque - of course they didn't - they're only interested in the money.
I can understand why they have changed to this attendentless parking system but they need to give leeway for mistakes and genuine errors. ACFH is the local centre for mental health - there will be people in a hurry entering details while a lot more anxious than I was.
