My almost two year old was admitted to Ward F63 for a week of traction then hip surgery in January and i cannot praise the staff enough. They were gentle and sensitive with a very frightened little girl who didn't understand why she was in traction and thereafter in a Spica cast. My daughter was in for two weeks altogether and the staff made things so much easier for us. Play therapists brought colouring things, stickers, musical instruments and wind up toys to keep her entertained while confined to bed and all the nurses involved with her care were fab. Though everyone was great i'd particularly like to praise a nurse who was on night duty while we were in. Couldn't have got through the first week in the cast without them and also the weekday domestic who's friendly words boosted my spirits daily. My daughter now asks if she can go back and see the people (and get a sticker) quite often so they obviously made a very good impression on her too. Couldn't recommend Sunderland Royal or Ward F63 any higher and cannot thank them enough.
