Recently had my gallbladder removed at the jubilee under the care of mr Bryce. He is a highly talented and skilled surgeon who put me at ease and whom I trusted impeccably. I cannot fault the care I received from him over the past year. I unfortunately experienced some post op complications. I attended a&e at Wishaw general after being discharged from jubilee a few hours previously. I was taken straight through and immediately attended to. Nurse Angela and Anne Marie did all initial assessment and the doctor appeared very quickly. I was treated with respect and dignity and my pain was assessed and treated very quickly.
I was then referred to the surgeons and transferred to ward 18. I spent less than an hour in ward 18 before being transferred to surgical HDU. I found all the staff I met caring and attentive, ensuring at all times that I was comfortable and pain free. I was taken back over by mr Bryce who again was very thorough and put me at ease immediately. The hospital was clearly busy and staff were very stressed, but st no times did I feel a pest or nuisance. I was greatly impressed with all areas I had contact with from a&e, ward18, surgical high dependency, and briefly ward 16, X-ray, domestics. All friendly and keen to help. As a nurse I got to witness care through the eyes of a patient. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with all aspects of my care from admission to discharge. I want to thank everyone involved in my care esp mr Bryce for all his care and attention. I am now back home recuperating and hopefully on the mend!
