"My missed miscarriage"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

This was my second pregnancy unfortunately both ended in miscarriage. I gave up smoking the second I found out, I was worried so went for an early scan to hopefully put my fears at ease, this wasn't the case. Fast forward a week after the first scan, and I was taken into a room where the doctor told me my options. I went for tablets this time round, however the doctor got very snotty when they saw I'd give up smoking and I told them that I will be returning to smoke. The doctor tried to give me a lecture, until I pointed out it's either smoke, drink heavy or self harm. They were rude about it and I felt like they had no idea what it's like to go through this, even the lovely nurse who was with me stuck up for me. Male doctors in my opinion should not deal with these cases, and if I have to go through this again I will refuse a male doctor.
