My experience of A&E was fine and I am still alive for which I am grateful. On the ward there just didn't seem to be enough staff. People would promise to come back and change a dressing for example but despite reminders it did not necessarily happen the same day.
The old woman opposite me was clearly confused and couldn't understand how to use her buzzer to get attention. Not that anyone came very quickly even when it was activated. She wanted to be helped to use a bed pan but there was no hoist on the ward so she had to solid her pad after waiting 4 hours. No one even knew what she liked to drink when she was struggling to eat to drink without support. I am surprised that one page profiles are not in common use as they are in other parts of the UK.
For my own part the food was appalling and the consultant patronizing and rude
