(as the patient),

I saw a therapist, Stella, over the course of a number of months.

Although I was on a waiting list for a long time, the service that I received was excellent. With Stella's help, I was able to process and deal with a traumatic experience that had impacted negatively on all areas of my life. Having completed our sessions, I now feel stronger and more able to move on.

The IAPT service is an invaluable resource, which must remain accessible to people in the borough.

Dear Hamish

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about your experience with Stella at Ealing IAPT. I will alert Stella to your post and I have no doubt she will be delighted that she was able to help you to process the trauma and enable you to feel stonger.

We are aware that some people have to wait some time to be seen. Despite our ongoing and constant attempts to try to manage the waiting list as effectively as possible, the service is in very high demand.

We are always looking into ways to increase our capacity. Although we are aware this will not be suitable for everyone, to help with the wait we do run an immediate access Stress Control Group and will shortly be offering an Online Therapy option. Details will appear in May on our website.

I am sorry that you had to wait a long time to be seen but very pleased that you had a helpful course of counselling that has made you feel more able to move on.
