What I liked

I attended the diabetes clinic for retinal screening recently. The process was very smooth, I checked in a bit early at reception and took a seat - the chairs have been upgraded since I was last there and are very comfortable now. I was quickly called through to do a test on the letters chart and then have the drops applied. This is something that I really dislike but the person applying them to my eyes was skilled enough to get drops in my eyes despite my flinching!

She asked me to wait in the corridor for 20 minutes but I wasn't seen for some time longer than this, possibly more like 40 minutes. When I was called through for the photographs of my eyes they did apologise though. Once the pictures were taken they showed them to me and showed there was no damage except in one small area and explained I would be seen again in six months rather than the usual twelve to ensure this doesn't worsen.

What could be improved

Nothing. Perhaps something more interesting than 'Cash in the Attic' being shown on TV but that seems standard in waiting rooms! The BBC News channel would be much more useful (though perhaps not when its showing constant swine flu updates!)
