"Won't come here again!"

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Maternity

I've gave birth here twice before. My son in 2014 (first baby) and may I add I was only 18. To cut a long story short I was appalled when the anesthetist was laughing at for not being able to stay still when I was in pain. To follow that I told he midwife I needed to push, they told me I didn't, me being niave at the time tried to stop my body pushing. When they finally looked at the monitor his heart rate was low and the alarm bell ended up ringing, he came out and his head was so coned and he was shocked so much that he had to be resuscitated. To top of I got asked how my other 3 kids were at home?! (I don't have any other children) and got told I was lying when I said I didn't! So the midwife must have picked up someone else's notes!

In 2016 I was due to give birth to my daughter also at PCH. I shrugged of my sons experience as just a bad day and thought it was just a bit disorganised, hopeful that this time would be better. After being referred to consultant care for problems in the pregnancy I was disgusted when I would ask to make an appointment to see my consultant and was always told that they were not in. I ended up having to research how to get around this problem and asked to speak to the consultant on call, after waiting for 2 hours I was called upstairs only to be sat down with a midwife who told me I was wasting my time and wouldn't be able to see the consultant. The consultant was great and helped me with everything I needed answering, set me up my induction date for later that week! So my induction day came round and it was a long process. After a failed attempt, I got told that I was dilated enough to break my waters and that they were just going to get my notes. An hour later they still wasn't back so I ring to ask where they were, they went home and left it for the next midwife to do who said they couldn't do it because they couldn't reach. I was super frustrated after 2 days of being in hospital. I then got told I should go home and wait 24 hours to come back I explained this was something I didn't want to do and was being induced early for a reason. I finally got to see my consultant and arranged for a c section to be done asap. The next day she was born, via c section, the doctor who performed the surgery told me it was great they got her when they did because her cord was around her neck 3 times and she was very blue (I'd been in hospital over 15 times for reduced movements just to be told her heart rate was okay so I could go home) at this point I was just glad she was out and everything was over. The day after I got told I could go home later that day, they just needed to print my paperwork and someone would be around shortly, I arranged for my partner and son to come pick me up, my partner carried the car seat up to my room with my son walking beside him (it's a 40minute drive to the hospital) I was then told I was "disgusting" for taking my son out at 8pm and was told I wasn't allowed to leave until morning. I had to discharge myself
