When my previous Medical Practice closed I joined the OMC 1 year ago. I felt that, in that time, there have been have been various interactive issues with the practice that I found difficult. I arranged, by a series of friendly e-mails, a meeting with the Practice Manager to discuss these issues.
At the meeting there was only myself and the Practice Manager.
The discussion that ensued was cordial, positive, informative, candid, and dispelled my uncertainty regarding the practice.
The patient base is large, and becoming larger. Managment issues are complicated and diverse, and require continual assessment and updating, as was made clear to me that this is a priority.
I was made to feel welcome at our meeting, and my views, and concerns were listened to, and explored seriously, with courtesy. I was able to ask any questions that I wanted which were answered with candour.
In the hour and a half that we talked, I was pleased to feel that all my questions/aprehensions were very satisefactorily answered. I now have a much clearer picture of 'The Practice', 'The Patient', and 'Staff' within it.
I came away from the meeting happily reassured. Content to be medically supported as future sickness might occur.
I am pleased to feel that the welcome, and openess towards me at this meeting has made me feel comfortable that my concerns are taken seriously, and so can continue with confidence, being a patient at The OMC.
A very sound meeting with a very sound manager.
