At the age of 71, this was my first experience of being overnight in hospital since 1947 so I had no idea what to expect.
Without going into detail of the four days spent in two different wards, I would say that my care was exemplary, the pre-op and post-op information I was given was totally reassuring and working through the physio/re-hab programme made me confident that I would be able to handle it on release from hospital.
I left the hospital feeling that any apprehension which I had experienced beforehand was unfounded and confident that, should I have to call on the services of Ayr University Hospital in future, I would do so in the knowledge that I would have first class treatment.
