I was referred by GP and advised that there was a waiting list. I had an assessment appointment within 4 weeks and started seeing a solution-focussed counsellor about 4 weeks later. I was extremely depressed and suicidal at the beginning of the sessions.
My counsellor made me feel valued and encouraged me to identify strategies myself which would help me to feel better. I saw her weekly for over a year, then sessions became fortnighty and monthly, before we agreed an ending.
Everything about this process was positive, all staff encountered were excellent; friendly, warm and welcoming. I ended the process feeling better about myself than I have ever done, and feeling much more certain about my capabilities and my future.
