I first saw gyne last July (2016), I didn't see the main person, but their colleague. The doctor was nice and explained they thought I have endometriosis. I had an MRI booked in and was to go back for the results and to get it sorted.
I went back in October and there had been something on the MRI which this doctor called a 'dark mass, probably endometriosis' and said I would probably need an operation to remove. They went and spoke to the main person and they said to try a hormone injection to see if it helped the symptoms, and then they could decide whether to operate. It took ages for the paperwork to make it to my GP and I chased and chased for ages!
Anyway, I had 3 months of the injection and went back in February, thinking that something might actually be done this time - how wrong was I! I saw the main person this time, they were nice but flippant. Told me it probably wasn't endometriosis plus they had done a laparoscopy recently (apparently 3 years ago is recent!!) and there was no sign then so highly unlikely to be that now. I 'could' continue with the injection but it may not help. They said it wasn't a 'dark mass' but merely a few tiny spots (not that they could tell me what those spots are!) Then they said, if symptoms persist, they would refer to a 'Unexplained Pelvic Pain Clinic' !!! No mention of the cyst on my ovary and they said an ultrasound was clear - well I never had an ultrasound for them, it was on the stomach so nowhere near ovaries so I am not sure what they were looking at!
I felt angry for being made to feel like I was making it all up. I felt annoyed that I had taken time from work to be told nothing. I feel annoyed that you just basically get discharged even though they haven't sorted anything! Plus being sent to 'Unexplained Pelvic Pain' clinic sounds like where they send people just to placate them.
I am no further than I was a year ago.
"Gyne wasted me nearly a year!"
