"Breast Screening at the Primrose Unit"

Having attended for an initial breast screening, I was called back due to an anomaly which needed to be investigated.

Obviously this caused anxiety, regardless of the wording in the letter for the recall, which tried to negate any worries or concerns.

On attending the department, the staff were all welcoming, polite and went out of their way to reassure and provide a safe environment to discuss concerns.

I was seen by a radiologist, then a registrar followed by a consultant.

Investigations were carried out, and I was informed at all stages what was happening and why.

Communication was excellent.

I was fortunate that the anomaly did not require anything further, and although the experience was scary and anxiety provoking, the professionalism and communication shown by the staff in this department went a long way to reassure.
