What I liked
The physiotherapy department was very helpful.
What could be improved
The consultants only do a ward round once a week on the labour ward, so the unit is mostly run by run by junior staff (of varying levels of experience and even research fellows who have very little clinical experience) who are too afraid to call their consultants even when they are out of their depth. The academic and research side of the department may be well-known, but this is not the hospital to go to if you would like high quality clinical care.
Anything else?
There was poor communication between the rotating medical teams of junior staff and inconsistent and poor decisions made which adversely affected my care when I was a patient at this hospital. I was treated patronisingly and was not involved in decisions about my care.
